With over 30 Teams representing at Shoyoroll's World Clan San Diego (held at Johnny Faria's school), we are excited to see whats to come on their next destination. Most of you are wondering what their event is all about, Well with one word it is to "UNIFY" that we are all one regardless of Team. Lets build Jiu Jitsu to a new level.

Here is a little write up on some of the Black Belts that were present: Joao Faria was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He started his journey into martial arts with Judo at the age of 8. His first contact with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was at the age of 12 with Master Flavio Behring. Johnny had to stop training because of how far he lived and it was not safe for someone his age to commute by himself. However, at the age of 16 he was able to get back to his true passion training the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu art with Master Flavio Behring and Jorge Patino “Macaco” who awarded Johnny his Black Belt at the age of 22.                                                                

Jared Weiner has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for close to 20 years and is currently a third degree black belt. He remains an active competitor and is a certified BB instructor under IBJJF.

Marcelo Mafra is a 2014 IBJJF Black Belt World Champion. Black Belt under Damian Maia from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Lead Instructor for Mafra CheckMat High Desert. Hesperia, CA

Shawn Fowler, born in Denver Colorado, is a life long athlete and veteran of the United States Navy. Fowler fell in love with the Art of Jiu-Jitsu in his adopted City of San Diego. Fowler currently holds the rank of Black belt under multiple time world champions, Saulo and Xande Ribeiro.
